Speed Racing in the House
Since Brayden has been old enough to stand with our support, he loved jumping on our laps - for very looooonnnggg periods at a time. My parents bought him the Fisher Price Jumperoo which he loved! He spent hours in this thing but was really the happiest if someone sat right in front of him - watching him jump and of course, reacting to him. This didn't really help me get anything done around the house. We decided to buy him a walker - one that you sit in. I did a lot of research and found that walkers aren't really reccommended anymore due to safety concerns but I knew that Brayden wouldn't be content in a playstation that didn't allow him to move. So we decided to go ahead and buy a regular walker and just pray that our baby gate would hold up! Brayden spent so much time in his walker and got really good at getting around the house - carpet, doorways...nothing stopped him. He learned very quickly how to back up and turn around when he ran into a wall. This was the perfect solution for us - he loved being in there - with toys and snacks on the tray, and I was able to get things done. The only problem was....he got TOO good at it and we had to really watch out for our toes! He started zooming around and crashing right into people (and cats!). It became a game (Brayden's favorite of course!) and he would wait for Uncle Danny to come home and chase him!
